May 13, 2026: As part of a recent review of our program structure and documentation, we’ve updated how practical application and conduct expectations are communicated and applied across the EQUUSOMA® community.
Previously, signing a Code of Ethics was required as part of the EQUUSOMA® Practitioner (ESP) designation process. Following this review, we’ve moved away from having a standalone signed document that applied only to a portion of our community members. Instead, we’ve consolidated everything together into a single Guidelines for Practice framework that our entire community can refer to.
These Guidelines are not introducing anything new. They reflect the same values, principles, and teachings central to the curriculum and our various policies and agreements, refined and expanded based on advances in the field and industry standards. Rather, they draw a clearer line between what is formally binding under the existing agreements and what serves as broader practical guidance.
All students, graduates, ESPs, and team members are expected to be familiar with these Guidelines for Practice and conduct themselves in accordance with them, alongside that policies and agreements that continue to apply. These expectation remain foundational to the participation in the EQUUSOMA® community and continue to guide our engagement with one another, equines, and the rest of the natural world.
For easy access, the Guidelines for Practice are now available in the Key Documents section on the Home page of your portal.
